Teenage Withdrawal

It’s your boy Prince in the building. Been a long time.
Thank you Jó. It’s all due to the stress that comes from the daily activities of high school. My topic for today is teenage withdrawal. I don’t know much about depression but about a week ago my dad sent me a text saying that research has just shown that teens who listen to music a lot have a higher tendency to have withdrawal instincts and depression than those who don’t.

Then my mom went that’s for you. I defended myself by saying i don’t have withdrawal instincts and I talk to people. But then I started thinking and realized that most of the time I feel like going to a small corner and just being by myself rather than be with people. When i’m in school all I can think about is leaving and going back to my music. So I wondered, what could be causing this?

After much thought,I realized, most teens are misunderstood. Though our parents have gone through this same route they aren’t like us, because every child is special in his/her own way. This withdrawal instinct is so strong that some find solace in taking drugs, withdrawing almost to the point of insanity and spending time doing things that aren’t worthwhile.

I guess my point is that parents, teachers and adults in general should learn to counsel us as against scolding. I believe that most children don’t need to be beaten. I personally see beating as molestation. Using physical abuse so as to get whatever  morals you want to teach them to me is just wrong. I believe when you beat a child and then try to counsel the child, the child would not place emphasis on the counsel, rather the child will remember what you have done and likely hate you for it. So rather than beat one should counsel one’s teens and the dreaded topic about sex in particular should never be avoided.
