We all know how it can be at work. You come in the morning, go through the motions of replying emails, answering phone calls, having meetings…it can be a whirlwind. And as you go along, sometimes you need to touch up your makeup to keep up with the madness that comes with the territory. That is where this post comes in handy.
Today, we give you some tips on how to keep up with your appearance while making one. From using something as easy as a lip gloss/balm to pinning back your hair, here are 5 tips to help out with your beauty at work.
Lip Balm
Now, this might seem like a no ‘brainer’, but you would be surprised at how many people would rather buy and use lipstick than lip gloss.
Investing in a good lip gloss/balm is a sure fire way to always have glossy and healthy lips, even at work. If you’re a banker and don’t have the time to do a full beauty check or your full-time mom duties are taking a toll on you and you don’t have the time to check your makeup, a nice simple coloured gloss or balm would be a great pick me up for your lips.
A great lip balm you can try is the Lip Therapy by Vaseline. I use it myself and it keeps my lips nice and moisturized and gives it a nice highlight that is perfect at the office.
Mascara:
Mascara is another great tool you can invest in. A simple application of mascara can give you a face lift even when you’re about to crack under the pressure of work.
Get a small compact mirror (that every woman on the go should have) and give your lashes 2 concentrated swipes.
You will notice your eyes will get bigger and brighter making your face more attractive.
Loose Powder:
Now, loose powder is another way to go.
It’s lunch time, you’re starting to have that halo of sweat-turned-oil nest on your forehead; the quick solution, a quick swipe of loose powder.
The thing about loose powder is, because of how translucent the powder is it would dry faster and give your skin breathing space. However, you must make sure to wash your face thoroughly before you sleep so you do not create a good condition for germs on your face.
Bobby Pins:
While working, your hair could and most likely does come loose. It could be from running to your boss’s office to submit a deposition form before 3PM or fixing the printer in the fax room, bobby pins would come in handy.
Having a packet of them in your hand bag or in your desk could help keep stray hair in check while you get your ‘working-class-girl-on’.
Hand Lotion:
Shuffling through files can be so annoying, especially after you finish shuffling and your hands turn white from handling the paper. This can make your hands look and feel dry and look unpleasant, especially if you are in Customer Relations.
So having a travel size bottle of hand lotion will definitely come in handy. This is also applicable for ashy elbows and knees.
This way your skin always looks moisturized and healthy.
