Well, there may be a long way to having anything close to this, a ranking for women? May be, even almost impossible; unless, ranking in terms of level of oppression! However, let’s assume there is such an exercise, who will lead? No, wait, let’s start with what will be the requirements? And, who will set the standard for assessment? Men? Women? Now, what will be the basis for such ‘assessment’? Elite women or regular women? City women or Rural women? Mothers or Wives? Career women or Business women? Traditional women or ‘Acada’ women? Young women or Older women? The list could be longer.
The truth of the matter is that the label, WOMEN, can not be put in any straightjacket; women are unique lots and can function in different capacities as the circumstances of their lives demand. So, it would be very difficult to place their roles within certain boundaries; in fact, every woman is a special creation, complete in herself and designed to be able to care for herself as well as others. This is why the unique description of ‘multitasking’ is used mainly in relation to women performing many roles.
Therefore, why are women not specially celebrated for their uniqueness? Why are men blind to such special attributes? Are some men jealous of these attributes of women? Why are men not accessing the immense benefits of this uniqueness to help apply in the different difficult areas of governance or administration? Why are there more cases of oppression and subjugation of women, in terms of rape and violent abuses across the world? Oh!!! Are men jealous of the women?! There are a few women in position of authority across the world that are making small progress and few successes in their chosen cause. Are men afraid of women taking over?!!!
