Funke-Treasure Durodola holds a Masters in Journalism & Media Studies from Rhodes University, South Africa. She’s also the CNN African Journalist of the Year Awardee for 2007. She has a passion for gender issues, especially the empowerment of women; she is therefore well qualified to be on the panel of judges.
She is the first female journalist to manage an all news radio station in the Radio Nigeria Network and indeed the Nigerian broadcast industry. She has been hailed for creating a distinct identity for her station, Radio One, which she transformed from a general interest into an all-news format in six months.
Funke is a certified media trainer; she is a multiple award winner who has garnered her experience from working with different media organisations around the world.
Funke -Treasure is the author of Memories of Grandma.
Africanrubiz is a woman empowerment organization whose vision is to raise the status of the African woman by empowering her through orientation and direct enlighten, using the internet as a platform. In pursuant of this goal, Africanrubiz is rewarding female writers for participating in her vision of empowering the African woman. This we are doing through our First Campus Female Gender Writing Competition.
