HUNSU Folasade, PhD is one of our Panel Of Judges at the First Campus Female Gender Writing Competition. She lectures in the Department of English, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. Her research interests are in Women’s Studies, Auto/biography, African literature, and literary theory. She has published on African women’s writing and African literature. Her articles have appeared in Life Writing, Routledge’s Autobiographical Studies: A Reader, Discussion Paper Series of the Nordic African Institute and other reputable journals.She is currently working on a book manuscript (Re)membering Otherness: Poetics of African Women’s Autobiographical Writing. She has won many awards such as the Cadbury Fellowship (2008), Carnegie Fellowship for Female Staff of the Centre for Gender and Social Policy Studies (2008), Fulbright (SUSI 2009), Visiting Fellowship of the British Academy (2011), and Postdoctoral Fellowship of African Humanities Program (2013) among others.
She is committed to mentoring children and young people through consistent and broad-based support that will help build necessary academic, moral, and emotional foundation towards achieving their life goals. As a researcher, she pursues excellent and rigorous interdisciplinary researches aimed at promoting the aspirations of women and children. With a friendly and warm demeanor, she cooperates with individuals, groups and organizations to provide accomplish set objectives. Hunsu is happily married with children.
Africanrubiz is a woman empowerment organization whose vision is to raise the status of the African woman by empowering her through orientation and direct enlighten, using the internet as a platform. In pursuant of this goal, Africanrubiz is rewarding female writers for participating in her vision of empowering the African woman. This we are doing through our First Campus Female Gender Writing Competition.
