It was great seeing Laura Lyabandi a marketer and innovator seated next to Andrew Andrew Mboma, co-founder and Managing Director of Vinjari Company Limited under studio lights at the improved ‘Under the Spotlight’ event that was being recorded for the first time.
Bigger and better this time round the ambience was infectious. Dressed in a pink and black ensemble Laura told the audience present how she is a brand manager for Jack Daniels, an active blogger and a single mother of one. For that reason time management is very important to her.
With a following of at least 20,000 on her website highlights the joys and challenges of motherhood. Almost giving up on the on-line venture she made up her mind to revive with vigour after she felt she was letting people who believed in her down and now she dedicates time for it.
She would love the website to reach out to other women on the rest of the continent. Laura enjoys being a brand manager as every day is different and she gets the opportunity to meet new people at the various events and warns that despite having fun there is a lot of work to be done to ensure the brand stays ahead in the market.
As a single mother she tries to be home in time to oversee her child do his homework and Sundays is a day she tries her best to sit back and relax. Her advice to fellow women is that if they feel they have a good idea they should just go ahead and make it happen.
