Ambassador Annadif was speaking during a meeting with female representatives of the Somali civil society where he noted the widening democratic space in Somalia thanks to determination by the women.
“Somali female leaders continue to inspire a younger generation of educated, ambitious and resourceful women who will take the mantle from them,” said Ambassador Annadif, adding that “in various roles, Somali women have displayed that they are a critical pillar in the development of Somalia.”
Elsewhere Ambassador Annadif on Monday January 20 presided over the official launch of the Interim Jubba Administration (IJA) Executive Council that took place in the port city of Kismayu.
The launch of IJA signifies a political progress in Somalia and Ambassador Annad while congratulating Administration and the people of Somalia upon this “major achievement” pointed out to the people of Somalia that the African Mission Union in Somalia (AMISOM) will continue to work side by side with their Government, until peace has been created and Al Shabaab insurgency completely wiped out.
“AMISOM is ready to support the Administration and its leadership to make peace happen in the region and Somalia in general,” he said.
