Kaduna — Human Trust Foundation, a Kaduna based non-governmental organisation has disbursed capital to women who deal on petty goods in Kaduna metropolis.
A total of 100 women benefited from the scheme tagged Capital Enhancement Project for small scale entrepreneurs sponsored by a United Kingdom based business man, Alhaji Mohmud Dahiru Modibbo.
Each of the beneficiaries was given N10, 000. Speaking during disbursement of the fund, coordinator of the programme, Malam Jibril Sulaiman Zakirai said they decided to give out the money to reduce poverty in the society.
“It was due to the pathetic situation of our people, particularly women and youths, that our donor Alhaji Mahmud Dahiru Modibo sent in the money for the foundation to assist these kinds of people. We are not giving the money to those who are not doing any business. The money is meant for those small scale entrepreneurs, to help enhance their capital.
“The beneficiaries are mostly tailors, bakers, women who are into zobo drinks and pure water sellers. These people were selected within the society to enhance their businesses,” he said. Earlier in her address, the Ground Matron of the Foundation, Hajiya Hauwa Musa Kida said the foundation has nothing to do with politics.
